Performance psychology is the science of performing under pressure. It helps athletes, students, performers, and professionals deliver when the stakes are high.
The goal isn’t to silence nerves, it’s to work with them or even use them as fuel.
Whether you’re an athlete chasing peak performance, a student tackling high-stakes exams, a corporate leader, or a coach guiding others to succeed, you need more than just skill. You need the mindset to match.
Our performance psychology services are built to help individuals and teams:
Paul brings extensive experience working previously with elite athletes at the West Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS), along with clients from many sporting domains, the arts, and corporate sectors. His approach combines evidence-based psychological techniques to maximise performance, with empathy, insight, and a strong understanding of the individual behind the role. Paul also has lived experience in elite sport, being a former and current international decathlete. There are now several members of the J&R team who can assist you with your sports and performance needs.
You Already Have The Skills. Let’s Sharpen The Mindset.
Performance psychology isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing up fully, even when the pressure’s on.
Ready to build lasting resilience, focus, and confidence? So are we.
Anyone who performs under pressure. We work with athletes, students, professionals, artists, and coaches; anyone seeking to improve focus, manage nerves, and perform consistently.
Not at all. While we do support high-level athletes, performance psychology is just as useful for everyday challenges like public speaking, exams, job interviews, or managing pressure at work.
Sessions are tailored to your goals. We explore your thought patterns, emotional responses, and performance habits, then develop practical strategies to help you stay focused, confident, and calm under pressure.
Yes. Many clients seek support because anxiety or self-doubt is getting in the way of their performance. Our work focuses on understanding these responses and building tools to manage them more effectively.
It depends on your goals. Some clients benefit from a few targeted sessions, while others work with us longer-term to build and maintain their performance mindset. We’ll always tailor the approach to suit you.
