Alicia Visser

I support adults experiencing stress, burnout, anxiety, trauma, and sleep difficulties to restore balance, rebuild resilience, and live with greater ease and self-awareness. My approach is compassionate, practical, and grounded in neuroscience and evidence-based practice — helping clients understand what drives their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours so they can create conscious choice in how they live their lives.

With over 17 years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist, I’ve worked across diverse settings including emergency services, Defence, and corporate wellbeing. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the pressures people face in demanding environments, and the importance of practical, sustainable strategies for change.

I draw on a range of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness-based interventions. Central to my work is the belief that healing happens through genuine connection — I bring warmth, authenticity, and collaboration to the therapy relationship, creating a safe space for meaningful and lasting recovery and growth.

I work with adult clients experiencing:

• Stress and burnout
• Worry and generalised anxiety
• Low mood, self-esteem, and confidence
• Adjustment to change and life transitions
• Trauma and post-traumatic stress responses
• Sleep difficulties, chronic fatigue, and insomnia (see Sleep Matters)

Outside of work, I love travel, family adventures, and time in nature — the things that remind me of the value of connection, joy, and perspective in all that I do.
