Louise Buck

With more than 25 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of supporting countless people on their paths to positive change. My journey as a clinical psychologist has taken me through diverse settings—from government agencies to private practice—providing a deep and varied understanding of the challenges people face.

I am a compassionate and validating psychologist who believes in creating a safe, supportive space for you to feel heard and understood. My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema-Focused Therapy, EMDR, and self-compassion frameworks. I believe in a collaborative process, working with you to find practical and effective strategies.

My practice has a special focus on reproductive medicine and the unique challenges it presents. For over a decade, I’ve provided specialized support for individuals and couples navigating the complex emotional and psychological landscape of fertility issues. I am an ANZICA-registered fertility counsellor with 15 years of experience, having worked in both fertility clinics and private practice. I help clients through every stage, including:

  • Reproductive conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), vaginismus, azoospermia, perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause
  • Infertility diagnoses and treatments (e.g., OI, IUI, IVF, genetic testing)
  • Fertility Preservation (medical and social)
  • PMDD
  • Donor Conception
  • Solo parenthood by choice
  • Ceasing fertility treatment, not by choice
  • Pregnancy loss and stillbirth
  • Termination for medical reasons (TFMR)
  • Navigating the transition to parenthood and adjusting to life postpartum

My approach is trauma-informed and neuro-affirming, and I also support clients dealing with a range of other concerns, including:

  • Anxiety (generalized worry, panic, social anxiety)
  • Depression and low mood
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Grief and loss
  • Self-awareness, self-compassion, and values-based living for Autistic & ADHDer young people and adults
  • Emotion regulation and relationship difficulties
  • Stress, burnout, and perfectionism
  • Sleep problems

I work with older adolescents (16+) and adults. My goal is to provide continuous, long-term care, helping you through major life transitions with kindness, candour, and a bit of humour.

I do not work with clients whose primary concerns are substance use, eating disorders, or anger management. I do not perform formal comprehensive diagnostic assessments for ADHD or Autism or provide court reports. However, I am always happy to help you find a trusted professional who can provide support in those areas.

My practice is open three days a week (Wednesday to Friday) at our West Perth clinic. In my free time, I love to travel, catch up with friends, or simply relax at home. My favourite way to unwind is by curling up on the lounge with a good Netflix show and my dog, Mr. Darcy, a sweet cavoodle.
