If you’re feeling anxious, down, stressed, or just need some clarity, our Perth psychologists are here to help. Our experienced team provides tailored adult clinical psychology services to help you reconnect, reset, and reclaim your sense of self. We offer support from our West Perth and Como practices, and Australia-wide through telehealth.

Anxiety can show up as constant worry, physical tension, racing thoughts, a sense that something is wrong, or avoiding situations that make you uncomfortable. It might be generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, trauma, or health anxiety.
Our Perth psychologists help you understand what’s driving your anxiety and find practical ways to manage it. Many adults feel anxious about work stress, relationships, or big life changes. Therapy supports you to manage these feelings, build coping skills, and reclaim your life.
Persistent heaviness. A sense of sadness, feeling flat, guilty or numb. Depression affects how you think, feel, and get through your day. It can keep you stuck in cycles of low energy, hopelessness, pulling away from things you used to enjoy, and feeling disconnected.
Our psychologists work with adults experiencing depression to spot unhelpful patterns, manage unhelpful thought patterns, and rebuild connection with yourself, your relationships, and the things that matter to you.
Ongoing stress from work, caring for others, money worries, or relationship issues can affect your physical health, sleep, focus, and how you feel emotionally. Our psychologists help you identify what’s causing stress, develop ways to cope, and set boundaries that protect your mental health.
We work with Perth adults dealing with work burnout, family pressures, and life changes.
Grief can follow when a loved one has died, but it can also follow relationship breakups, job changes, health diagnoses, disappointments, moving house, or losing your sense of who you are.
Working with a psychologist creates space to process these experiences at your own pace, understand your emotional responses, and move through the healing process without pressure or judgement.
Low self-worth, harsh self-criticism, perfectionism, and lack of confidence can hold you back at work, in relationships, and in your personal life.
Our clinical psychologists help you work out where these beliefs came from, challenge patterns of negative self-talk, and build a kinder relationship with yourself. This often involves looking at early experiences, spotting unhelpful core beliefs, and developing practical strategies for change.
Feeling irritable often, having sudden outbursts, or feeling like anger controls you can damage relationships and affect your quality of life. Anger often masks deeper emotions like fear, hurt, or helplessness.
Therapy helps you understand what triggers your anger, recognise early warning signs, identify what you’re really feeling underneath, and develop healthier ways to express and manage difficult emotions.
Living with ongoing physical health issues such as chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, diabetes, neurological conditions, or long-term illness can seriously affect your mental health, sense of identity, and relationships.
Psychological support can help you adapt to health challenges, manage the emotional impact, stay motivated with treatment, and maintain quality of life despite physical limitations.
Unhelpful patterns in thinking and behaviour around food, weight, or body image often reflect deeper emotional struggles. Our psychologists provide support to explore underlying causes, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, and develop a healthier relationship with food, your body, and yourself.
This work is collaborative and paced according to what you’re ready for. While we do not treat anorexia nervosa, we do treat challenges associated with restricting food, bingeing, purging, or feeling overly concerned with weight and shape.
Ongoing sleep problems can worsen anxiety, depression, and physical health. Our psychologists have specialised training to address sleep difficulties such as insomnia, and introduce practical strategies to improve sleep quality.
At J&R Psychology, we match you with a Clinical Psychologist who takes time to understand your unique situation, concerns, and goals. Together, you’ll explore what brings you to therapy, identify patterns that might be keeping you stuck, and work towards meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
We use approaches backed by research, including:
The approach used depends on your specific needs, preferences, goals, and what research shows works best for your situation. Your psychologist will discuss this with you and adapt their approach as therapy goes on.
We use approaches backed by research, tailored to your individual needs and goals rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Sessions available at our West Perth practice (21 Ord Street) and Como practice (400 Canning Highway), with telehealth options available Australia-wide.
We can help you access Medicare rebates through a GP Mental Health Care Plan, and we’re registered with major private health funds.
No, you can contact J&R Psychology directly to book an appointment without a referral. However, if you want to access Medicare rebates, you’ll need a GP Mental Health Care Plan.
Your GP will check if you’re eligible and refer you for up to 10 subsidised sessions per calendar year. Our friendly admin team at our West Perth or Como practice can help guide you through this process if you need it.
Your first session at J&R Psychology (50-60 minutes) is a chance for your psychologist to understand you, what you’re currently dealing with, your background, and what you’re hoping to get from therapy.
It’s also your chance to ask questions, get a feel for their approach, and talk about how you’ll work together. Together, you’ll create a plan that fits your needs, preferences, and pace.
How long therapy takes varies depending on your goals, how complex your concerns are, and your personal circumstances. Some people benefit from short-term, focused work (6-12 sessions) on a specific issue. Others choose longer-term support for more complex patterns or ongoing life challenges.
Your psychologist at J&R Psychology will discuss this openly with you and adjust as needed based on your progress.
Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to therapy at J&R Psychology and protected by strict ethical and legal obligations. What you share in sessions stays private.
There are a few rare exceptions, such as when there’s serious risk of harm to yourself or others, when required by law, or with your written permission to share information with others. Your psychologist will explain these limits clearly in your first session.
At J&R Psychology, 2026 fees for a 50-minute session range from $230-$285, depending on the clinician you see.
Yes, if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician, you can claim Medicare rebates for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year, which significantly reduces how much you pay out of pocket. Sessions without a Mental Health Care Plan are available but aren’t eligible for Medicare rebates.
We also welcome clients covered by DVA, WA Police, private health insurance, and St John Ambulance staff and their families.
Clinical psychologists are endorsed by the Psychology Board of Australia because they have done additional postgraduate training (plus specific supervised practice) in assessing and treating complex mental health conditions. This includes extra training in mental health disorders, psychological assessment, and approaches backed by research.
Both psychologists and clinical psychologists are registered with AHPRA and provide effective therapy. At Jeffery & Ree Psychology, the choice often comes down to your specific needs and who you feel is the right fit.
Yes. Many of our psychologists work from both our West Perth practice (21 Ord Street) and our Como practice (400 Canning Highway, enter off Greenock Ave), giving you flexibility if you live in Perth’s northern or southern suburbs. You can choose whichever location is most convenient for you, and this can change from session to session if needed.
We also offer telehealth (video) sessions for clients who prefer online therapy or live outside Perth.
Therapy progress looks different for everyone. Some people notice shifts in how they think or feel, others see changes in their behaviour, relationships, or ability to cope with stress.
Your psychologist at J&R Psychology will regularly check in with you about your goals and progress, and adjust the approach if needed. Open communication about what’s helpful, and what isn’t, is an important part of effective therapy.
Progress isn’t always linear; setbacks or difficult periods are normal parts of the process.
